DWFritz Automation is highly experienced with integrated motion control. Our machines drive a robot or other device based upon input from a vision system or other sensors. This allows our machines to pick up or place parts that are in unreliable positions or locations. Our machines will also control motion in multiple axes simultaneously to achieve complex movements. We have designed and built machines with as many as 19 axes of simultaneous servo motion control.

Many of our machines utilize servo motion control, ranging from simple stand-alone indexers, with discrete I/O or serial connections to PLCs, to sophisticated PC-based motion controllers. For extreme accuracy, we have designed complex systems with encoder resolutions down to 0.02 microns. For other configurations, depending on the speed and accuracy required, we have utilized servomotors for direct drive, gear reduction, belt drive, and screw drive.

Precision Part Inspection System

This system provides an automated platform for high-resolution part inspection. Components are manually loaded into custom-built nests installed on Primatics .02 micron X-Y table stacks. Viewing custom screens and navigating via standard computer keyboard, the operator selects a recipe and then activates the cycle-start command.

Ultra Precision Excise and Attach Machine

This system precisely excises small plastic parts from supply reels and attaches them to silicon wafers using a UV curable adhesive. High-performance machine vision and precision motion components enable ultra-precision alignments between the parts and wafer. A robot with a dual wafer gripper automatically moves wafers between the processing table, input cassette, and a UV flood station.
