Our robotic material handling system features a six-axis Adept robot performing user-defined tasks within an expandable work cell environment. In the basic unit the robot moves on an overhead linear track between a work cell and a single storage cell. Fitted with a quick-change custom gripper assembly, the robot can be programmed to perform a wide variety of sorting, material handling, or pick-and-place tasks, with move repeatability of .015-inch.
The system’s unique modular construction simplifies on-site assembly, with major subassemblies sized to pass through a standard laboratory doorway. Modular construction also means expandability, such that additional storage or work cells can be added to extend the robot’s work envelope up to 11 meters in total length. Standard safety features include a full-length light curtain and interlocked sliding door with emergency exit feature.
