Machine receives jewel cases containing 0.002" thin, delicate, plated sheets separated by foam sheets and Teflon sheets. Using machine vision and a robotic, articulated arm, the plated sheets are separated from the packaging materials and precisely placed onto magnetic carriers.
The reusable carriers have been previously cleaned by the machine prior to mounting. Cognex vision software and four cameras are used to determine the type of packaging material to be removed, the type of carrier, whether the carrier has been successfully cleaned, and also read the 1D or 2D barcode on the carrier.
